“My Happy Hour”

“I considered myself to have a pretty good workout routine at my old gym. I worked out 4 days a week and did a long run on the weekend. Three years ago my definition of working out was just running on the treadmill and occasionally doing some sit-ups. I rarely, if ever, touched weights and certainly was not able to do a push-up. I would be hard pressed to say that I could even do push-ups on my knees back then. I struggled with the fact that I was not losing weight and not getting faster when I would run. I knew something had to change, but wasn’t sure how. Three years ago, I started using this program and I was hooked. I was a little intimidated at first since I was not in my typical comfort zone. That feeling didn’t last long. It really has become my Happy Hour. It is a habit and part of my routine that I just consider a no-brainer. You wake up and go. No excuses. It took about a year to notice a considerable difference in my running. Measurably speaking, I was 18 minutes faster on my last half-marathon and felt great at the end. My numbers on the scale are about the same as they always have been, but I now understand that 5 pounds of muscle looks much different from 5 pounds of fat. My greatest feat is being able to do push-ups! Hands down, I love them more than running now. You know those pair of jeans that hang in your closet? The ones that you just can’t seem to part with because you know you are going to be able to fit into them someday…and they haunt you! I can finally fit into them, but they are way out of style! I am thankful for this program and the education it has given me. Now if I can just get those pull-ups!”

“Be Not Afraid”

“My husband started getting serious about his diet and exercise. One day it just hit me that I needed to do more if I wanted the results I was striving for. I finally went to my husband for help. He told me he had been waiting for a long time for me to take the step of asking for help. I think he knew if he came to me first that I would be defensive and defiant. He was probably right. Right away, he told me about this program. I have always felt too afraid to lift weights. Quite honestly, I did not know much about weight training and I was too intimidated to even venture over to that section of the gym. As far as eating, I have tried in the past to eat healthy. Of course, my understanding of eating healthy was a Lean Cuisine at lunch! Then, I discovered this program. Every time I finish my hour of training, I feel like I have accomplished so much. I was taught about food each week so I was not overwhelmed by hearing everything in one sitting. After three months of training and eating healthy, I have seen changes to my body that I could not see possible. I lost 5-1/2 off my waist. 13-1/2 inches of body fat overall! I am fitting into so many old outfits! The one thing I have learned is there is no easy way to get to where you want. You have to dig deep and just do the work. I cannot wait to see what results are waiting for me in the future!”
